Helen, My Friend (by Rachel) We’ve shared so much together as friends throughout the years With you I had the best of laughs and sometimes even tears In Meadway we would laugh and play, and to Abba we would sing Chatting on our way to school, hanging out with friends at the pool Your college years were full of fun, party life had then begun We burned the candle at both ends, Christmas and birthdays spent as friends Years rolled by and life moved on, and your beautiful daughter Elise was born We shared the joy, we shared the pain and life would soon be good again A few years on David entered your life and how we all rejoiced when you became his wife Later on our pregnancies we shared, the size of our bumps we often compared When Joseph arrived what fun it would be, our children growing up just like you and me The last nine months you were so brave and still compassion and a smile you gave Your smile and laughter how they beamed like the sun’s rays and you always brightened the darkest of days Why oh why did it have to end, the joy of knowing you Helen, my friend
